About this sermon
1 Corinthians is a letter of answers — to factions, lawsuits, marriage, meat offered to idols, conduct in the assembly, spiritual gifts, the resurrection. This opening program stands back from the details to look at the shape of the whole thing: who the Corinthians were, what they had written to Paul, and why a letter to one messy congregation still gets read closely.
