About this sermon
Proverbs 31 gets quoted at women more often than it gets read carefully. This program takes the chapter as it stands — a king's mother instructing him, then the portrait of a capable woman built line by line — and considers what the writer means to hold up and why the description runs the way it does. It is a text worth recovering from its reputation.
