About this sermon
The second half of Second Samuel is a house coming apart: Bathsheba, Nathan's parable, a child's death, and then Absalom, an heir who steals the kingdom out from under his father. This program follows David through the consequences he was forgiven but not spared, and ends in the strange grief of a king mourning the son who tried to depose him.
