About this sermon
Habakkuk is unusual among the prophets: rather than preaching to the people, he argues with God. Why does wrongdoing go unanswered, and how can a more violent nation possibly be the remedy for it? The reply he receives - that the righteous will live by faith - becomes one of the most quoted lines in the New Testament, and the book closes with a song sung over an empty harvest.
