About this sermon
Zephaniah opens with some of the bleakest language in the prophets - a sweeping day of the Lord that spares neither Judah nor its neighbors. Then it turns. The last chapter gathers a humble remnant and pictures God in their midst, quieting them with his love and rejoicing over them with singing. Judgment and tenderness inside three short chapters, which is most of what makes the book worth a careful reading.
