Follow your heart is advice everyone gives and almost nobody examines. Proverbs 16 offers a different account of how a life actually gets steered - a person plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. This study reads the chapter as a reply to the slogan, weighing self-direction against the kind of wisdom the chapter commends.
