About this sermon
The middle of Proverbs 3 calls the one who finds wisdom happy, then explains the valuation: better than silver, more profitable than gold, a tree of life to everyone who takes hold of her. Happiness in this sense is a condition rather than a mood — the settled state of a life ordered by something durable. The passage also roots wisdom in creation itself, which lifts the stakes of doing without it.
