About this sermon
Proverbs 7 tells a story rather than issuing a rule: a young man without sense wandering toward a house at twilight, and a father watching it happen from a window. Unusually cinematic for wisdom literature, the chapter treats sexual temptation less as a sudden fall than as a series of small, unguarded steps. Its counsel is preventative — bind the commandments close, and decide before the decision arrives.
