About this sermon
Between Malachi and Matthew sit roughly four centuries with no inspired record and a great deal of history: Persian rule giving way to Greek, the Maccabean revolt, Rome's arrival, and the emergence of the parties the Gospels simply assume their readers know. This second program fills in the world the New Testament takes for granted, which is often the missing piece when the Gospels feel abrupt.
