About this sermon
Proverbs 3 opens with the verses many people can quote and fewer can practice: trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. The chapter's first movement attaches that trust to concrete things — mercy and truth worn like a necklace, honoring God with what you own, receiving correction without resentment. Leaning on your own understanding is treated as the natural default rather than an exotic mistake.
