About this sermon
Proverbs 4 is a father passing along what his own father once told him, which makes it a chapter about inheritance as much as instruction. It sets two roads side by side — one shining brighter toward full day, the other stumbling in a dark it cannot account for — and locates the difference in what a person guards in the heart. Watchfulness over the eyes, the mouth and the feet follows from there.
