About this sermon
Remember, Paul says - and then lists what his readers had been: outside the commonwealth, strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. It is a bleak inventory written to people with every reason to prefer forgetting it. The paragraph turns on two words, but now, and on the blood that brought those who were far off near.
