About this sermon
Having heard of their faith, Paul prays not that his readers would acquire more information but that the eyes of their understanding would be opened. What he wants them to see is specific: the hope of their calling, the riches of the inheritance, the greatness of the power at work in them. A prayer aimed at perception rather than at circumstances.
