About this sermon
Peter's harshest lines fall on teachers who promise liberty while being themselves the servants of corruption, and on those who escape the pollutions of the world only to get entangled in them again. The lesson works through that warning, including the proverb Peter borrows about the dog and the sow, and the sobering claim that the latter end can be worse than the beginning.
