About this sermon
Scoffers ask why nothing has changed since the fathers fell asleep, and Peter answers with two events they have chosen to forget: a world made by the word of God, and a world destroyed by water. From there come the lines about a thousand years and a day, and the reason the promise only looks slow — God is not slack, but longsuffering.
