The power Paul points to here is not hypothetical - it is measured by a resurrection and a throne. Christ is raised, seated above every rule and authority, with all things put under his feet. The last line is the one that lingers: this exalted Christ was given as head to the church, which is called his body and the fullness of him who fills all in all.
